Vi Health was born from the belief that women’s health deserves better. While HealthTech has transformed many areas of healthcare, women's health—and especially menopause care—has been left behind. There’s a lack of data, limited medical protocols, and long waiting lists for appropriate care. That’s where we come in. About the role

As a developer with Vi you will share responsibility over the entire code base, front to back and everything in between. Some days you may be implementing new analytics or debugging a slow database query, on other days you’re designing a new interface with our UX’er or building that in React Native. The phase we’re in affords us to have lots of new and evolving ideas, but it requires true agility and creative solutions from you to make them work.

What you will do

• Co-design features with our UX designer and the other software engineer; both the creative brainstorm and reducing to core values and a feasible scope.

• Build, build, build, using TypeScript for front-end (React Native), back-end (NestJS, PostgreSQL) and AWS.

• Break down and plan ahead on the bigger topics to create a realistic roadmap with the design, product and tech leads.

• Collaborate with various suppliers, freelancers etc. to scale up the things we can do as a small company.

Who you are

We need diverse talents and perspectives as much as we need air to breathe. The only non-negotiable traits are clear communication and an eagerness to learn!

• You’re passionate about health, or even women’s health specifically, and are eager to make an impact on the quality of life for hundreds of thousands of women.

• You’ve worked in both front- and backend code before, wether you identify as a full-stack developer or not, and have affinity with other disciplines in product development. You find users and business goals just as important as clean code and elegant solutions.

• You’re comfortable in TypeScript, or at least in JavaScript, and have at least 4 years or more of professional experience under your belt.

• Able to communicate well in English — Dutch is a small bonus but most of us are not actually native!

• You’re happy to work with changing priorities and moonshot ideas — but only if they are better priorities and ideas than yesterday! Missing specifications happen all the time, they’re yours to fill in with your product or design

• You like to work hard. It’s true that we’re a small team with big ideas and no processes for most things. This is also where you’ll make a big impact on the future of the company.
